ABOUT HARVEST HOMECOMING

Mission Statement

Harvest Homecoming is a group of volunteers dedicated to providing a family-oriented festival. It unites the community in a spirit of fellowship and is committed to continuous improvement.

A Local Legacy

Honored by the Library of Congress Bicentennial Local Legacies Project in 2000, the Harvest Homecoming Festival draws hundreds of thousands of visitors to New Albany, Indiana and has been growing and thriving for 52 years.

The festival was conceived as a means of bringing the people of southern Indiana together to share in its wealth of talent, history and beauty, as well as to promote the vast tourism opportunities.

What is now more than a week's worth of activities began as a three day 'Pumpkin Festival', a civic effort by the Tourism Bureau of the New Albany Chamber of Commerce. It is now funded exclusively by Harvest Homecoming Festival Associates, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization, fully operated by volunteers and powered by sponsors.

A Letter From Our President

Welcome to the Harvest Homecoming Festival, voted Indiana's top Fall Festival. It is a great honor to serve as President these next two years. We are growing leaps and bounds and will continue to work hard to meet the needs of our community.

With great new partners like Samtec Cares and UPS, we are able to grow and expand our Kid's Events. Our friends at the Floyd County Library and Carnegie Center for Art & History have helped to program the new Samtec Cares Family Stage in the First Financial Lot with interactive and educational programming for kids of all ages.

We are excited to upgrade beloved events like the Harvest Homecoming Parade with a brand-new start time, 3:00 p.m., followed by our brand-new Float Show and Harvest Kickoff Karaoke. This is a great opportunity to get an up close and personal look at some of your favorite parade floats, as well as karaoke your favorite songs in Bicentennial Park to a live band!

We look forward to inviting our neighbors with sensory and crowd limitations to Inclusion Day on Sunday, October 13 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. to experience Harvest Homecoming in a calmer and more comfortable environment.

From the youngest to the young at heart, Harvest Homecoming is proud to call you a friend and New Albany home. It is only because of your support and the support of our generous sponsors and volunteers that we are able to continue to commitment to facilitating and encouraging the fellowship of our community.

On behalf of our Executive Board, Directors, Vice Presidents and Members, thank you so much and we can't wait to celebrate Harvest Homecoming with you!

Happy Harvest,

Beth White

2020 President
